Instead of shopping like every one else and their mom, yestersay we stayed at home. And baked. Like it was going out of style. We baked for breakfast. And we reheated some homemade pizza in the oven, and then we took a break to go see “A Very Merry Unauthorized Children’s Scientology Pageant” at the Know. I’d recommend it, if you’re into that kind of thing. And clearly, we are. Kids, and musicals. Good lighting, and little theatres. Not scientology. Nor did that involve baking. But it’s what we did, between baking, because man can’t live on bread alone. He’s needs a little comedy too.

And then we came home and baked some more. Almost solely in preparation for Thanksgiving #4. That’s right Vince Vaughan & Reese Witherspoon. 4! We are going to four of these things, and all before you go to your four Christmas’s. So take that. I bet you can’t do 5…

So feast your eyes on our baking prowess. Everything is homemade. No boxes or premixed bags. Just us, our hands, and some flour and spices. Plus a little sugar.

P.S. If you want pictures of food or your kitchen, hit me up. It’ll be a good time. For real.

I’m just catching up on the news and started reading about the terrorist attacks in Mumbai. After living in India, it has a special place in my heart, so when something like this happens, it’s not just news, but it feels personal. If you have no idea what’s going on, please go check it out. Boston’s Big Picture is a good place to start. If there’s something you can do to help, then do.

dough

I really enjoy cooking. From scratch. It’s relaxing. I love creating something new without a recipe especially. So today is no exception. This is today’s version of my homemade dough. It started off as something a friend passed along and it always morphs and changes according to the whims of my taste buds. Today it has some added herbs and spices, and a tiny kick. In a couple hours this will have became a thin crust pizza covered in sauce and fresh vegetables from the farmer’s market. It’s been a while since I made one of these so I’m pretty pumped. If you want some, well you should call me and we can hang out sometime. Not tonight, because I’m hanging out with my wife, and no offense, but she’s way cooler than you, that’s why I married her. So until we hang out, enjoy the picture of my dough. Freshly kneaded, and risen, to a bubbly perfection.
